Beatrice Gertrude Rusten

Beatrice G. Rusten, age 79, of Volo, IL, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 4, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to the late Thaddeus and Helen (nee Cardarian) Wicker.

Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was deeply committed to her family and her strong faith. Beatrice cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience.

Known as a hard-worker Beatrice was a bookkeeper in the accounts receivable department for North Shore Publishing for over 20 years. Her dedication and attention to detail were admirable, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Beatrice had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel. She and her husband, John, embarked on a remarkable journey, exploring 48 of the 50 States, only missing Hawaii and Alaska, of the Great United States of America.

Beatrice is survived by her devoted husband, John M. Rusten; her loving daughters, Patricia Hopkins and Tina Patterson; her loving son Bill Bennett Jr; her adored grandchildren, Robert Patterson, Brian Patterson, Nicholas Chandler, Jessica Chandler, Bill Bennett Jr, and Daniel Bennett; her cherished great-grandchildren, Preston, Payton, Parker, Paxton, Penton Patterson, and Charlee Chandler; as well as her beloved siblings, Ernest, Paul, and Thaddeus Wicker, and Geraldine Shaw

She is preceded by her parents and her siblings, Bruce and Alexander Wicker and Alice Gilly.

A celebration of Beatrice's life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Hts., IL 60004. Then we will receive guests starting at 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm (CST).
