Bernice C. McBrideOf Arlington HeightsBernice C. McBride was born on December 22, 1927 in Chicago, to Walter and Margaret (nee Witzgall) Krentner. She died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at her home.Bernice, a homemaker and former customer service representative, was a nurturer, jokester and conversed easily with all she came into contact. She will be remembered as a full time Mom to her children and the kids from the neighborhood and was known as the "life of the party." She was dedicated to her family and close to all her grandchildren.A very active member of St. James Church, Bernice belonged to a Small Faith Formation Group, the St. James Women's Club, the Women"s Golf League, and helped at Bingo and PADS. She was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Women"s Auxiliary Group, TOPS and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. She cherished her summers in Green Lake, Wisc. where she spent time with her family and friends, and volunteering at the Craft Center.Bernice is survived by her children, Pam (Tom) Absher of Alamo, Calif., Jim (Cindy) McBride of Carmel, Ind., Kevin McBride of Chicago, Janet (Robert) Troher of Chicago and Christine Larson of Arlington. Heights.; her grandchildren Natasha and Jack Absher, Harrison, Kendall, Melissa, Michael, Pasha, Misha and Joey McBride, Zachary Troher, Erik (Elyse Zavar), Evelyn and Zoe Larson; and her daughter-in-law Elaine Stankiewicz of Falls Church, Va.She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen P. McBride; sons Terry and John; her parents; and her sisters, Sister Dolores Krentner and Alyce (Timothy) Sullivan.Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
