

Betty Lou Bukowski Of Arlington Heights Betty Lou Bukowski was born on July 24, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois to Bernard K. and Ethel V A (nee Cedarstrom) Olson. She died Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Moorings HealthCare Center in Arlington Heights, IL
She grew up in Norwood Park where she attended Norwood Park Grammar School, Taft High School and North Park College. Betty Lou married childhood friend and sweetheart, Bob Bukowski, in 1946. Betty Lou and Bob moved to Arlington Heights in 1951 to raise their family.
Mrs. Bukowski was a retired homemaker and community volunteer who loved her family, her church, her community and the White Sox and the Chicago Bulls.
She was a member of the local PTA where she served as a room mother and president. She also served as a loyal volunteer at Northwest Community Healthcare/Hospital beginning in 1970 and was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. As an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights Betty Lou served as an elder and was active in the Women’s Association as a Circle chair and board member.
Betty Lou took great pleasure in making her home welcoming and a place where her family felt loved. She was a great support to her husband as he also served the community they loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love, genuine caring and a deep abiding faith. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Betty Lou is survived by her children Merrilee Hall, Nancy (Robert) Lincoln, Peter Bukowski and Patricia B. (late Terrance L.) May; her grandchildren Bryn L. (Eric) Wulf, R. Todd (Kobi) Lincoln, A. Carrie (Jeff) Martinka and Peter R. Lincoln as well as her great-grandchildren Hayden Wulf, Hannah Wulf, Jayne Martinka, Raleigh Lincoln, Mary Martinka, Knox Lincoln and Sarah Martinka; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Robert Hall Bukowski, her parents as well as her brother Reid A. Olson.
Visitation Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 2:00pm until time of the Memorial Service at 3:00pm at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights 302 N. Dunton Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
