Brenda Borchers

Brenda Borchers was born on July 2, 1959 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Robert Charles and Judeena Rose (nee Spencer) Hentscher. She entered her eternal rest following a seven-year battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Brenda worked as the Director of Resident Life for Lutheran Home and Services, deeply committed to maintaining the residents’ quality of life and dignity,and caring for their family members. She also served as Lutheran Home’s representative to the Arlington Heights Senior Citizens’ Board and served as the board’s secretary for many years.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights where she volunteered as Sunday school superintendent for many years and joyfully sang, naturally adding harmony, in praise to her Lord and Savior Jesus. She also served on the congregation’s Oktoberfest planning committee.

Brenda’s interests and hobbies included listening to and singing contemporary Christian music, sewing dresses for her four granddaughters, and embroidering gifts for family and friends. She was an avid Disney fan, often making trips to Florida to visit her favorite place on earth.

Brenda is survived by her spouse of 39 years Dr. Kevin Borchers; her children Erik (Lindsey) Borchers, Ashley (Charles Holsinger) Borchers, Stephen (Angela) Borchers; her grandchildren Austin Borchers, Jocelyn Cargill, Addison Borchers, Lily Cargill, Chase Holsinger, John Cargill and Elijah Borchers; her sisters Christine (George) Hockett and Sandra (late David) Matthews; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law.

Memorial Visitation, Saturday August 14, 2021 from 9:00am until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 West Olive Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Commitment 26, c/o Lutheran Home, 800 W Oakton Street, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
