Although I have not known Brian for long and met him couple of times on my first visit to Chicago but the news of loosing him was heart breaking for me and the whole family here in Egypt. He was such a welcming nice man whom we spent with wonderful time .. nobody can help but to love him from the very first moment. Deep condolences from the family of Neil Ghanem to his parents, family, friends and our beloved Horeya .. our thoughts and prayers with you all.

I worked with Brian for several years. He was professional, capable, and very personable. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones for their loss. I will add his family to my prayer list.

Brian, or "Chappy" as I knew him, was such a good man. He was the life of the party, always up for a good time, and generous to a fault. He took me in when I evacuated New Orleans due to  Hurricane Katrina. When others offered their condolences, he said "Mali- Loyola of Chicago is honoring tuition for Loyola of New Orleans, and I've got a couch you can crash on!" From the moment I arrived, he made it his personal mission to make me feel at home- he invited me to attend his friends parties, he took me to my first ever Frisbee Golf Course, he showed me the sights and welcomed me into his family. He even persuaded his colleagues to donate clothing in my size so that I would have more to wear than just what I could cram into my ratty duffle bag. I am less afraid of taking risks because of the kindness Chappy showed me. I know that my life has been deeply impacted for the simple fact that Chappy was in it. I am still reeling from shock and disbelief that god could take someone so young and so full of life and good will. I will do my best to honor his memory by following his example.  Although I am sorry to say I will not be able to attend the memorial, I promise that I will drink a toast in his honor- and offer to buy those near me a round, because that's what Chappy would have done. To Chappy- gone but never forgotten.  Until we meet again my friend.

A day will not go by that Brian's wife, children, parents and sisters are in my daily prayers.  May Brian Rest In Peace with all of the angels and saints.

Old friend from high school, here.From my recollection, working with Brian in Expressions and school, Brian was "one of the good ones."  A hard-working, friendly, good guy.  I'm sure there's so much more that I missed, and I regret that now.He taught me to clean windows with newspaper, a trick he learned from detailing cars.  I didn't try it for years, thinking he was pulling my leg, but after nothing else seemed to work to get a shining surface squeaky clean, I gave it a try.  Now, I use his trick every week, each time wondering if this will be the time his joke will reveal itself in the form of ink streaks. Instead, I'm rewarded, each time satisfied and grateful he taught me this life hack.  He helped teach me to think outside the box, use available resources creatively, instead of wasting new ones.  This lesson helped put me on the path I'm on today.I'm sure he's taught many others how to live life, and gave his boys a great head start.  I wish his family all the best in this most trying time.
