

Carl Fulkerson of Kildeer passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 8, 2026. He was born to Carl and Margaret Fulkerson on August 18, 1941, and was raised in Homewood, IL. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Peggy. He moved to Arlington Heights in the mid 1970s. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Penny, his son Ben Schwartz (Noel) and his 3 wonderful grandsons, Jonah, Gabe and Zeke. He is also survived by his niece, Elizabeth, and nephew, Greg (Debbie).
In 1981 Carl founded Concept Food Brokers based in Arlington Heights. He started by representing 2 foodservice manufacturers and grew the company over a 40 year period to represent over 40 companies. He was highly respected in the foodservice industry. He fully retired in 2012.
He was active with the AH Youth Athletic Association coaching his son Ben and many other boys in baseball. In later years you could find him on the golf course with his buddies or his grandsons and other family members. He loved his family, his pets, traveling, working in the garden and his beloved White Sox. Carl and Penny enjoyed many winters in Sun City West, AZ, with family and friends as frequent visitors.
Visitation will be at Lauterburg Funeral Home at 2000 E. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights, IL from 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday, June 14 followed by a Celebration of Life from 3 pm to 4 pm.
