Carmen Adele Filippelli

Carmen Adele Filippelli, 87, was born on November 28, 1935, in Chicago, IL to William and Evelyn (nee Hubbell) Klein. She died Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at JourneyCare at Northwest Community Hospital, in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Mrs. Filippelli was a former junket coordinator for MGM Grand Hotels and the Riviera Hotel and was a real estate agent with Century 21.

Carmen loved spending time with her family and friends, sharing good conversations, making sure everyone ate a big meal, and perhaps playing a little cards. She loved hosting big parties for special occasions and holidays. She enjoyed walks with her friends in her Las Vegas neighborhood and some video poker "action" at her favorite casinos.

She will be remembered as an accepting, loving person, loving people for who they were regardless if they may be "different" and was an amazing and loving mother and grandmother. She was the family leader who instilled a set of values and a way of living into her family and everyone she touched in her life.

Carmen is survived by her sons, Ralph (Kathy Sparks), and Patrick (Amy Sherwood) Filippelli; her grandchildren, Alison, Bryan, Matthew, and Tyler Filippelli; her brother William Klein; her many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents; her sisters-in-law, Maureen Klein and Audrey Paschke, and her brother-in-law Chuck Graziano; her niece Mary Ann Graziano and nephew Chuck Graziano.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arl. Hts, IL 60004 and from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 Monday, April 24, 2023, at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL for Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment following at St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum.
