Carol F. Thielman was born on July 22, 1932 in Chicago Heights, Illinois to Joseph and Frances (nee Stogentin) Koehn. She died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at her home.

Loving wife, of 49 years, to husband Les. Loving mother of son Mark R. Broertjes, Stepchildren Sherry L. (Larry) Gianneschi, Sandra Lee Thielman and W. Scott Thielman. Loving Grandmother to Justin, Ryan, Shane, Brandon, Marisa, Larry, Nick, Amanda, Christina, Samantha, Stacey, Michael, Jackie, Alex and Steven. Proud Great Grandmother to Tyler, Layla, Kain, Rocco, Gianna, Aryanna, and LJ.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Kent A. and Scott W. Broertjes; her parents and her brother-in-law Bill.

Carol Loved interior design and had a passion for it. Carol graduated interior design school in her 50’s.

Carol was a world traveler, whether it be a castle in Germany or riding an elephant in Thailand. Carol was an entrepreneur owning an exclusive gift store in Glenview for 14 years. Carol was also a board member of the Prospect Heights Garden Club and was actively involved with beautifying Prospect Heights Village Hall, Police and Fire Department. Carol loved to entertain, she was always fashionable and stylish. Carol had a found love for dachshunds.

Visitation Monday, December 4, 2017, from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:30 pm, at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Interment private.
