For those who were lucky to call Carol Thompson their friend, knew she was someone who they could always count on, could brighten up any room with her contagious smile, and someone who would love them with their whole heart. Fortunately for me, I am one of the lucky ones and got to call her Grandma. Our Grandma was one of a kind. She was the person you called when you wanted to laugh or just someone to talk to for a few minutes or an hour, the one who was always your number one fan, the one who was always the life of the party, and someone who could befriend a stranger anywhere. Not only was she a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, but she was also one of my biggest role models. My Grandma inspired and continues to inspire me to love full-heartedly, live every moment to the fullest, dance whenever you can, accept everyone for who they are, live a happy and joyful life, and always ask for extra lemons. Our Grandma was truly a sparkle, that will continue to shine on through our memories, countless saved voicemails, and the love she radiated every day. She was someone who always knew how to be the life of the party, and told us to “stay out till 4 in the morning”. Although she has pretty big high heel party shoes to fill, I will try to be the loving, caring, joyful, vibrant, and sparkly woman she was. I will forever miss her beautiful and joyful self and I can’t wait to see her again. I love you Grandma and hope heaven is filled with lemon trees just for you 💛💛

Pausing. Exhailing deeply. What a wonderful person. Brian, your daughter’s weddings were a wonderful celebration in their own right and they were made even more special for me and Kellie because we had the opportunity to spend so much time talking to your Mom—the Neighborhood’s Mom. I don’t have even 1/10,000 the time spent with her that you and your family had, but i still feel inspired by her. That’s amazing. That’s some serious influence. That’s some serious ‘making a difference’. That’s the outcome of a serious capacity for love, caring, amd compassion, and I am privileged to have grown up with you and and to have someone as truly great as your Mom, who is so close to my own life. So close where examples of real-life wisdom, integrity and love are so many, so accessible, and so durable that I can pause and recall them as many times as I need to and yet they never wear out. I’m the recipient of a great gift…the gift of being known and loved by the great Mrs. T.
