

Carole A. Lienau (nee Boos), 63, of Sister Bay Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, May 5th, with her family by her side. She was born September 20th, 1950 in Chicago to Evelyn and Robert Boos.Carole is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Colleen (Chinh) Pham; her two beautiful grandchildren, Owen and Ryan of Arlington Heights; her mother, Evelyn Boos of Park Ridge; her three brothers, Ken (Cindy) Boos of Denver, CO, Jeffrey (Katie) Boos of Chicago and Bradley (Carol) Boos of Denver, CO; and her sister, Cindy Krupski of Chicago. Also survived by three brother in-laws, Joe (Mary Lou) Lienau of Downers Grove, Bernie (Chris) Lienau of Sturgeon Bay, WI and James (Mary) Lienau of Green Bay, WI; and his two sister-in-laws, Katherine Lienau of Traverse City, MI and Barbara (Robert) Lawrence of Wausau, WI.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Boos and her mother-in-law, Marion Lienau of Sturgeon Bay.As a teenager she heard her calling to the nursing profession and it was the foundation to how she lived her life. She began as a candy striper while attending Resurrection High School. She graduated from Marquette University with a BSN in Nursing where she participated in many service organizations. She began her career as a RN at St. Mary"s, Racine WI, and then transferred to critical care at St Catherine in Kenosha. She also operated a group home for the developmentally disabled in Racine. While working at St. Catherine"s she met and later married David W. Lienau, who also shared her love of the medical field. Upon moving to Chicago, she took a critical care nursing role at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and they made their home in Arlington Heights IL. After 25 years in nursing she moved her talents to her love of interior decorating. Twelve years later, she successfully merged her interior decorating and home healthcare experience to specifically help the elderly by designing homes that accommodate their special needs while being beautiful. Carole was a teacher, she enjoyed teaching healthcare professionals, working with individuals in youth organizations, and participating in her continuing dialog group, Marriage encounter.After the marriage of daughter, Colleen, Carole moved to Sister Bay, in Door County Wisconsin, where Dave was born and raised. In Sister Bay they opened Sister Bay Mobil and she continued with her healthcare career working for Aurora NorDoor Clinic. Enjoying all the beauty of Door County she engaged in her hobbies that included, gardening, bird watching, boating, and sunsets. Her special artistic talents included sewing, embroidering and quilting. Her Trillium quilting guild provided inspiration, friendship, and unending support. Her greatest joy were her two grandchildren Owen (4) and Ryan (2), who always brought a smile to her face while sharing all the wonders of Door County.Carole was a strong independent woman, who was a true caregiver and teacher to everyone. She taught us to notice and enjoy the beauty around us, to understand and share our talents, and to always respect and be kind to others. She was always willing to help others, especially providing guidance to youth to recognize their actions, consider decisions and constructively grow themselves to help the community. Her life was service to others.Thank you for the care from Unity Hospice and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Green Bay. Special thanks to all friends and caregivers in the community, especially Sally, Shelia, Stacy, Jen, Kari, and her driving prince Bernie.A Friendship gathering will be held in Sister Bay on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Casperson Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A gathering and visitation will then be in Sturgeon Bay at Huehns Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. A memorial visitation will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. Memorial Mass 10:30 am Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N.
