Loving mother of Lindsay (Rob) Heitz, Glenn (Suzanne) Laatsch, and Owen Laatsch; Devoted Gugga (Grandma) of Hannah, Graham, Will, and Collin; Altruistic sister to her siblings Christy (Doug) Blaze, Todd (Kelly) Will, Tim (late Becky) Will, Trevor (Margi) Will, Trent Will, Tony (Gina) Will; cherished daughter of the late Bill and Gerry Will; aunt to many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Born November 17, 1957, she died September 1, 2024 after a heroic, seven year battle with cancer. A lifelong native of Arlington Heights, Cathy built a life in service of her family. She always put her needs second to those of her loved ones. In 2008 she suffered the most unimaginable loss of her soulmate, Gary Laatsch. Through devastation, she persevered, providing her children with a roadmap for how to live: with grace, resilience, love, and steadfast loyalty. Cathy had a presence to her, one that can now be found in the things she most enjoyed: the laugh of her grandchildren, the bond of family, and the serenity of the Northwoods.
