

Celia M. Keats (nee Petracca) wife of Wayne M. Keats for 49 years. Mother of Maryanne and Lynne Keats-Service; grandmother to Jessica and Jordan Service; great-grandmother to Jack; daughter of the late Constance and Joseph Petracca of New York City and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; sister to Ralph and Joseph Jr.; mother-in-law to Jay Service; sister-in-law to Beth Sherwin-Petracca, and Doris (Ray) Frank; aunt to 5 nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Keats was born in the Bronx, April 12, 1931. She was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York where she worked as a designer of children’s wear until she met her husband Wayne, a Korean War soldier. They were married in 1956 and Celia returned with him to his home in Chicago. Here she worked as a children’s wear designer until the birth of her first daughter. She resided in Chicago and Niles where she served as a member of Our Lady of Ransom Women’s Club and taught a C.C.D confirmation class. She was an original member and actress with the Jefferson School Theatrical Society until 1970, when she moved to Arlington Heights, where she resided for 30 years.
She was an active women’s church member of St. James church and for 10 years a participant in the church’s theatrical production as an actress.
In 2000 she and her husband moved to their current home in Valley Lakes of Round Lake where she was a member of St. Joseph Church. She taught C.C.D and St. Bedes Church senior women’s club, and was a very active member of the Round Lake Park senior walking club, the Red Hat Society, and was a member of the Moose in Northbrook with her husband.
Visitation for Celia will be held on Friday, November 22 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Saturday, November 23 at 10:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until the time of mass at St. James Catholic Church 820 N Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
