Chet was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest soul you ever met here on earth. His sense of humor, pride for his country, his stories and his amazing singing voice would captivate people wherever he went. I am so grateful to have had such a wonderful friend in Chet. We grew up in the same neighborhood and reconnected in Arlington Heights through St Edna’s, at church, at Snack Theatre and listening to him belt out songs at the 9:30 choir mass. He was one of a kind and I was fortunate enough to visit him almost weekly for many years. I love you Chet and will miss you forever here on earth. Until we meet again, I will remember you in all the  “Blue Skies” I see. “I Can’t Smile Without You”, but I will keep you forever in my heart. May you Rest In Peace my friend. God Bless Chet!  May he fly with the Angels into the arms of Jesus!  I had the privilege of singing with Chet in the choir and snack theatre.  He was always ready with a funny joke and a smile.  Such a lovely man!

I enjoyed working with Chet at the Arlington Lakes Golf Course.  He was always ready with a story or joke and would spontaneously sing a show tune in his great voice.  My deepest sympathy to Chet's family.

I sang in the Choir at St. Edna's with Chester for many years after I joined the parish about 1990. We got to be pretty good friends  during that span  and kept in touch periodically afterwards.
Chester enjoyed regaling us with stories of his long vocal career - from his days in the Army during WWII right up to his appearances in some parish musical shows. He possessed a strong, lyrical voice which he retained in his later years long after others lose theirs.  And he enjoyed just about any opportunity to share this gift. He even met and was tutored briefly by the late, great opera tenor Franco Corelli(!).
He particularly loved singing in the Choir, something that he had done for more than 60 years.  He always sang with a confidence that not only reflected his joy of singing but also his strong Catholic faith.
I will miss him.  Perhaps sometime in the future - when we hopefully meet again in a better place - we'll get  a chance to sing that duet from "The Pearl Fishers" that we often talked of doing.

Chester sat  in the top row of St. Edna’s Choir for many years, above me. He had such a beautiful voice that added so much to the choir. I will never forget his smile and grace. He will be missed. I pray that he is singing with the Choir of Angels. I’m very sorry for your loss. Brenda Nowinski.

Chet became my friend for 19 years when we met at the St. Edna's bereavement group after we both lost our spouses.  And we were able to survive the loss of our spouses passing and form a durable life.  

Chet and I took two senior tour trips to California, one by tour bus and one by plane, and he took everything in stride.  Chet also helped my son James and I with grocery shopping, and took us to the movies, restaurants, and to other events and to many other adventures.  And we enjoyed spending holiday dinners with Chet at my son Steven & Eileen's house.  

Thank you, Chet, for all the many good memories and good years!  

And our heartfelt sympathy goes forth to his family.
