Chris will be remembered as a steady and devoted presence. Someone who showed up, time and again, with quiet constancy and unwavering support. Growing up, his children and grandchildren could count on seeing him in the stands or on the sidelines at their sporting events, no matter the distance, always there to encourage and stand behind them.
He valued an active life and pursued it with purpose. Chris enjoyed biking, walking, and traveling, and he embraced challenges that reflected both endurance and commitment. He participated in EverWalk, the global long-distance walking initiative and community, and completed the Camino de Santiago. He also biked RAGBRAI, the bicycle ride across Iowa.
A devoted dog lover, Chris found joy in the simple companionship of animals and in the time spent with those he loved most. Above all, he cherished being with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, who were at the center of his life.
Chris is survived by his children, Chris (Nicole) Devona, Thomas Devona, and Nick (Lindsay) Devona; grandchildren, Beckett Devona and Iris Devona; siblings, Steven Devona, David (Mary) Devona, and Karen (Ken) Wendtland; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Snowball.

Visitation will take place Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. There will be a brief Time of Remembrance that will begin around 4:30 PM.
