Christine L. Nowakowski

Christine L. Nowakowski, 74, of Buffalo Grove passed away March 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born February 8, 1952, in Chicago to the late Joseph and Maria (née Rembeszewski) Spychalski.

Christine was the beloved wife of Raymond Nowakowski; devoted mother of Scott (Brittany) Nowakowski and Lori (Mischa McLachlan) Malm; proud grandmother of Edwin Nowakowski and Arthur McLachlan; sister of Joseph Spychalski and Stanley Spychalski and the late Richard Spychalski; and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Christine dedicated more than 30 years to nursing, including many years at Lutheran General Hospital, where she cared for countless patients and formed lasting friendships with colleagues. She was a natural caregiver who family and friends often turned to for advice, reassurance, and steady support. Her compassion, practical wisdom, and willingness to help others were constants throughout her life. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

Her family will remember her for her strength, her generosity, and the steady care she gave so freely to those around her.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. A church visitation will take place Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles, IL.
