

Christine Ann (Van Aman) Watson, 59, of Chicago, IL, passed away in the evening of February 22, 2026. Christine fought valiantly against metastatic breast cancer, initially diagnosed in 2013, recurrence in 2023.
She was born July 8, 1966, in Fort Wayne, IN to Larry A. Van Aman and Ruth A. (Tschannen/Van Aman) Smith. She graduated from R. Nelson Snider High School, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1984. Chris received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and received her master’s in education from Northwestern University.
Christine worked for Sears in both the fashions and human resources departments, before becoming a resolute Catholic school teacher for the archdiocese of Chicago. Christine touched students at St. Angela, St. Edward, and St. James Catholic schools. She also spent time as an education consultant through the FranCenter organization.
Christine had a wonderful sense of humor and had been a writer at Second City in Chicago.
An enthusiastic Purdue Boilermakers fan, Chrissy was also a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks.
On June 25th, 2005, Christine married Robert Eric Watson. Together they raised their daughter Katherine (Katie) in Chicago.
Christine was an active member of our parish, Mary Seat of Wisdom, volunteering for Vacation Bible School and a member of the St. Teresa of Avila Guild. She was an avid supporter of St. Viator High School where Katie attended. She advocated for the school’s bowling team, symphonic/pep band, and the arts which Katie actively participated. She continued that support to Illinois Wesleyan University where Katie has started her freshman year.
Christine was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.

Smith of Auburn, IN; Mother-in-law Alice Fletcher (L.J.) of Niles, MI; step-mother, Donna Christopher Van Aman (Cary Riske) of Grayslake, IL; Brothers Patrick Van Aman (Vicky May) of Coldwater, MI; Adam Van Aman of Mundelein, IL; Sisters Sharon Pressler (Dave) of Pleasant Lake, IN, and Rebecca Van Aman-Robinson of Chicago, Sister-In-Law Debbie Van Aman of Fremont, IN, Nephew Shane (Stephanie) Stephenson of Woodburn, IN Nephews Paul of Lincoln, NB, and Matt (Amanda) Van Aman of Palatine, IL, Niece Caroline (Ben) Justick and Grand-niece Charlotte, Grand-nephew, John, all of Bloomington, IL
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Van Aman, stepfather, Virgil Smith, brother, Thomas Van Aman, brother In-Law Randy Robinson, and nephew Andrew Van Aman.
Visitation will be held at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, US, on March 6, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Church Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 820 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, US, on March 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Catholic Church on March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Interment will take place at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Cemetery, 22333 W Erhart Rd, Mundelein, IL 60060, US, on March 7, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
