A much-loved woman, Conchita T. Lim, 94, of Arlington Heights, IL, died a grace-filled death in her sleep on June 3, 2026. Born April 22, 1932, in the Philippines, she moved permanently to the United States in 1980.
A loving and devoted mother, grandma, and great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to so many, Conchita lived a fun-loving, active life for as long as her health permitted. Among her many passions, she most enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, shopping, her work, and watching movies and k-dramas.
After moving to the US, she worked at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL for nearly 30 years in the Central Processing department as an operating room surgical instrument technician. Her work ethic was so strong - and she so enjoyed her job - that even after retirement she continued her position on an “on-call” basis for several more years.
She enjoyed traveling with family members and had the opportunity to visit many countries in North America, Asia and Europe, and made frequent visits to family in the Philippines.
She is lovingly remembered by her surviving children, Irene Melanie (Cesar) Yu, David Lim, Hedy (Wing) Wong, Dr. Michael (Diana) Lim, Jacqueline Lim, and Hans (Valerie) Lim; grandchildren, Nicholas Yu, Jonathan Lim, Steven Lim, Lauren (Evan Lee) Wong, Peter (Theresa) Lim, Austin Lim, and Courtney Wong; great-grandchildren, Julian Lim, Tessa Lim, and Gemma Lee; siblings, Dr. Domingo Lee, Rosalia (Shirley) Yao, and Wilson Ty; and many nieces and nephews.
Conchita was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Peter Yu Cho (who died too young), her siblings, Vicente, Felisa, and Manuel; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from Noon until 4:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
An additional visitation will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 9:00 AM until time of service, which will begin at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
