I met Craig at Manorcare where he regularly attended the Thursday morning church service held by Faith Lutheran Church.  His love for the Green Bay Packers was almost as great as his love for Our Lord.  Craig had the greatest smile and would sing the hymns. I believe that God is looking after him. Going to miss a great and good friend of mine.  After six and a half years of laughter, music, singing and jokes and most important the morning ritual of our deep discussions of life on the bench in front of Manor Care and the secret handshake was a must before I went home.  It is so amazing that we have done this for such a long time and i have so many memories of my good friend you will be terribly missed but not forgotten. I have known Craig for the entire 7 years that he was a Manor Care.  He was not just a patient, he became a dear friend to myself and many others.  Every night that I started my shift and every morning that I ended my shift you could count on his most infectious smile to make your day complete. The man was most amazing. Having known Craig since the '70s, a lot of memories came back when I heard that he passed. Craig was a part of the major events of my life; 1st job, marriage, and birth of my children. He gave me my 1st real job which turned into a 17 year career. 
He loved his family. I remember stories of his trips to "Springpatch" to visit Bobby and his family and how proud he was of Sharon's girls.

Mr. Thompson always seemed to be the coolest Dad around to me. I enjoyed talking to him about life, our basketball team and his job. He always had a great disposition - funny, upbeat about life and ready for the next challenge. He was a great role model for me. God bless him.

I did my nursing assistant training at the nursing home Craig lived at. I thought he was one of the coolest guys around. He always had a smile on and was just wheeling through the halls, staying busy. I remember asking him what his tattoo was and he just laughed and said he didn't really remember.. and it was all faded, so it was just funny. He was always so appreciative when people came and said hi to him. He had a wonderful/joyful spirit that I will truly miss running into on my visits.

   Mr. Thompson, or  “Hot-rod” as I affectionately named him, became one of my favorite friends to visit at Manor Care. I met him about six months ago, and although he was a man of few words, his smiles said so much.
   I nick-named him “Hot-rod” because of the way he would wheel himself around Manor Care. With only one leg working, and without using his strong arm, he peddled himself up and down the hallway, steering himself around the obstacles, determined to get wherever he was going.
   We became pretty good friends. He would use his strong arm to hug me, and even graced me with a few kisses on the cheek over the past few months. I often found him outside enjoying the warm weather, and he NEVER wanted help getting around.  I always enjoyed visiting with him and getting to know Betty too. My 20 year old son, Alex, spent time visiting with both of them, and would often ask me how Craig was doing when I returned from Manor Care.
   I will miss him more than I can say. He was always a light to my day, and if he had been able to speak, I know he would have had great things to say. He truly touched my heart, and I only wish I had known him sooner and longer.

Dear Betty, Sharon, Bob and Family,
