Dan was the beloved brother of Richard S. “Rick” Kollins, Kim Herms and Cynthia Ballew; cherished Uncle to Trevor (Amanda) Olsen, Joseph Kollins, Richard “Rich” Kirkpatrick, and Mackenzie Ballew.
Dan was a friend to many. He worked at Acme Truck & Break for nearly 20 years, and he had an amazing extended work family.
Dan had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. Dan spent time on the stage with Chicago’s Second City and also produced a series of comedy skits for his own CableTV Program “Out and About with Dan and Hippie.” Most recently, Dan discovered a love of painting, and was a very talented artist.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3 from 4-8 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights.
