Born in Moline, Illinois, at Moline Public Hospital, Daniel lived a long and loving life filled with laughter, kindness, and family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and carried that same spirit of dedication and integrity throughout his life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vera Irene Krebs, who passed just three weeks earlier. Together, they built a life full of love, family, and joy. He is survived by his six children - Pam Kielich, Roland Kielich, Dan Krebs, David Krebs, Glen Krebs, and Gary Krebs - as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly knew him as Opa, and who will carry on his legacy.
Known for his sense of humor and warm heart, Daniel was a true jokester who loved to make others smile. He enjoyed playing cards at the senior center, spending time with friends, and sharing his love through laughter and simple joys.
A visitation for Daniel will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 East Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights, IL.
Daniel’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His kindness, humor, and love will always be with us — and the memories of Opa will forever bring warmth and smiles to his family.
