He was born in Hoffman Estates on October 18, 1985, the son of Rocco and Susan (nee Frankenberger) Malandrino. Danny married Cassandra Haupers in Lincolnshire, IL, on September 28, 2013.
Danny is survived by beloved his wife, of 13 years, Cassandra Malandrino; cherished children, Brody and Rocky Malandrino; dear parents, Rocco and Susan Malandrino; siblings, Jason (Kim) Malandrino and Gina (Dave Lalowski) Malandrino; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Danny will be remembered as a supportive husband, amazing father, loving son, nephew, coach, neighbor, prankster and teacher. All who knew him would say he was positive, thoughtful, sensitive, generous, competitive, fun to be around, a good friend and highly energetic. He was a foodie and a huge movie buff, always quoting obscure movie lines. Danny was a high school varsity soccer State Champ and University of Illinois graduate with a CPA. He was a well-liked substitute teacher and a sought-after youth coach. His encouragement, along with a little discipline, truly inspired many students and young athletes. He will be missed by his family, friends, students, and neighbors.
Danny would want you to think about all the fun times that you had with him. He was always giving to others and had a great sense of humor (that sometimes was misunderstood, oops!). A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. In keeping with Danny’s wishes and the way he lived his life, we invite family and friends to dress in casual “Danny attire” for the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation. Link: https://bbrfoundation.org/
