Dolores A. “Dea” Wittmeyer, age 92, of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Born on June 5, 1932, in Cashton, Wisconsin, she was the beloved daughter of Sylvester and Elma Newburg.

Dolores is lovingly remembered by her four children, Ronald F. (Carol) Wittmeyer, Jr., Ward W. (Deborah) Wittmeyer, Jena Barnett, and Bruce C. (Dawn) Wittmeyer; her cherished grandchildren, Lindsey (Yassin) Wittmeyer, Kevin (Jamie) Wittmeyer, Lauren (Aaron) Barnett, Kristen Pluta, Karl (April) Wittmeyer, and Kurt (Giuliana) Wittmeyer; and her adored great-grandchildren, Camryn, Reese, and William Wittmeyer, and Karson Wittmeyer. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Ronald F. Wittmeyer, Sr., and her parents.

Raised on the southwest side of Chicago near Midway Airport, Dolores attended St. Gall Catholic School and later enrolled at the University of Illinois Navy Pier campus, where she met Ronald. Both later transferred to the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, where Dolores earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

In 1960, Dolores and Ronald moved their young family from Chicago to Arlington Heights, settling in the Hasbrook neighborhood, where they raised their four children. A dedicated professional, Dolores served as trade show director for the American Fishing Tackle Manufacturers Association for over a decade and later worked at Meadows Credit Union until her retirement.

Dolores was intelligent, creative, and deeply committed to her family. An accomplished artist with an eye for design and architecture, she also had a passion for travel, reading, and card games. She found joy in spending time with her friends and family, and was a source of love and inspiration to all who knew her.

Private services will be held.
