

Don was a man with a strong faith in Jesus Christ, who deeply loved his family, friends ... and golf. He loved to laugh and made life fun for everyone around him. Even amidst life's challenges, he maintained a positive attitude. His generosity, wisdom, and playful spirit will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by his three children, Deb (Dan) Meyer, Connie (Mike) Sherlock, and Randy Guenther; his four grandchildren, Kyle (Stacy) Sherlock, Emily Meyer, Kelly (Erich) Neugebauer, and Scott Meyer (significant other, Kendall Klitzke); his six great-grandchildren, Caden, Riley, Teagan, Declan, and Conor Sherlock, and Ellie Neugebauer; his two brothers, Robert (the late Vernette) Guenther, and Vernon (Jean) Guenther; and his many nieces and nephews.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Velira (nee Goebbert) Guenther; his parents, Arthur and Anna (nee Roehl) Guenther; and his siblings, Irvin (Marion) Guenther, Arthur (surviving sister-in-law Lorraine) Guenther, Helen (Walter) Hetzke, Raymond (Adeline) Guenther, Walter (Genevieve) Guenther, Dorothy (Arnold) Brockmann, and Ruth (Clarence) Vogt.
Visitation will be held at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, 1330 North Douglas Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
