Donald "Don" Lewis Moats Jr.

Donald “Don” L. Moats Jr., beloved son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, on March 2, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on September 24, 1943, in Woodstock, Illinois, Don was the cherished son of Ordelle (née Olson) and Donald Lewis Moats.

Don was an avid mall walker and follower of Christ. Don was a friend to all and a stranger to none, his boisterous personality touched the hearts of everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Don is survived by his loving children, Donna (Greg Gibbs) Moats and Julie (Daniel) Clemens; cherished grandchildren, Victoria (Ricky) Purnell, Valerie Clemens, and James Gibbs; and dear great-grandchildren, Harper and Madeline Purnell. He also leaves behind many dear friends who will miss him greatly.

A visitation for Don will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Burial will be private at Crystal Lake Union Cemetery, in Crystal Lake, IL.
