Dorothea F. Strahle

Dorothea F. Strahle was born April 6, 1926 in Eislingen, Germany to Karl Bahnmüller and her mother Rosa (nee Götz), who was everything to her. She also often spoke of her stepfather, Vater Zimmermann, as a wonderful and caring man. She died November 20, 2021, in Buffalo Grove, IL.

She is preceded in death by her husband and companion Walter Strahle, with whom she shared a love for family, gardening, dancing, and German culture.

Dorothea was the caring and selfless mother of Dorothy Erika Strahle and Norman Carl (Linda) Strahle. As a mother, she set wonderful examples of gratitude, integrity, fairness, and unending love.

She was a wonderful Oma to Anna and Madeline Strahle, with whom she shared her stories of life, her passion for food, and love for laughter. She was so proud of everything they have become.

Dorothea is preceded in death by her siblings whom she loved and missed so much: Liesel of Freiburg, Hilde of Münsingen, and her dearest brother Karl of Köngen, who was taken from this earth much too soon.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM (Central Standard Time) at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. For those unable to attend the Service a Livestream can be viewed by clicking the link in “Events” below. Interment at North Northfield Cemetery.
