Dorothy A. Barnes was born on July 30, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Rudolph and Marie (nee Auringer) Janisch. She died Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Cuba Township, Illinois.

Mrs. Barnes worked in various banking positions for Chase Bank for over 20 years. Her interests and hobbies included crocheting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren

Dorothy is survived by her children William J. (Marcia) Barnes III, Jane (Robert) Walsh, Patricia (Scott) Kane and James (Laura) Barnes; her grandchildren Daniel (Kathryn) Barnes, Sean (Erin) Barnes, Caitlin Barnes, Cariann Walsh, Megan Walsh, Thomas Kane, Kenneth Kane, Jacob Barnes and Haley Barnes; her great grandchild Allison Barnes; her sister Gloria (Robert) Kries; she was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother William (Arlene) Janisch.

Visitation Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005 or Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, 1140 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL 60607.
