Dorothy Ann Elkins

Dorothy Ann Elkins of Arlington Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025 at the age of 81. Dorothy was born on April 15, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, the cherished daughter of John and Ann Keller.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law Kristen Elkins; and brother John (Kris) Keller.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Richard Elkins; children Rick (Jennifer) Elkins and Dave (Laura) Elkins; grandchildren Dalton (Allison) Elkins, Amanda (Devonte) Amos, Elizabeth (John) Elkins, Carter (Bianca) Carroll, Mackenzie Carroll, Lanie Elkins, Mikayla Elkins and Delaney Carroll; and great-granddaughter Juniper Elkins.

Dorothy was very active and loved going to her sons’ and all her grandkids’ sporting events, birthday celebrations, and holiday gatherings. She was a friend to many, enjoying get-togethers for dinner, movies, pool parties, weekend trips, or vacations. She found a home with Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed bible study, and was an active member. She loved the comradery of the close-knit community of faith. She left a legacy of generosity and care and will be missed.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025 starting at 10:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3201 Meadow Dr, Rolling Meadows, IL 60008. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights, IL.
