She was born on March 28, 1936 in Chicago to William and Catherine (nee Brown) Best.Dorothy was a loving wife to Albert Donald Mitroff, who preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, William Best.Dorothy is survived by her sons, Donald W. (Patricia) Mitroff, Richard M. (Lynn) Mitroff, and David A. (Linda) Mitroff; her grandchildren, Donald R. (Kim) Mitroff, Kelley A. Mitroff, Michael A. (Becca) Mitroff, Richard M. (Karli) Mitroff, II, Bradley J. Mitroff, Blake W. Mitroff, Melanie (Tim) Good, Corinne (John) Van Arsdale, and David N. Mitroff; her great grandchildren, Raelee, Alyssa, and Aubrielle; and her brothers, John (Diane) Best, and Jim (Pat) Best.Family and friends will remember her as a loving mother, a faithful friend and a devoted follower of Jesus, as well as an avid game player, a collector of memories, a lover of animals and a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs. Her sweet, gentle and fun-loving spirit will be missed.Visitation from 9am until 12:00pm, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Mt. Prospect Bible Church, 505 W. Golf Rd., Mt. Prospect where a funeral service will be held at 1pm.
