Douglas R. Imig

Douglas Roberts Imig, 60 passed away suddenly on Saturday August 3rd, 2024 at his home in Prairie Grove, Illinois. Doug is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lori, his children Doug (Shonique) and Jami (Drew), and his grandchildren Maxwell, August and Riley, as well as his father Raymond, his mother Virginia, and his siblings Brian, Laura, Chris, and Michelle.

Doug was a proud veteran, a devoted husband, a loving dad, an amazing grandfather, and a caring son, brother, and uncle. He always put the wellbeing of his family and friends first, before ever thinking of himself, and most of all loved the joy he brought to others. Doug touched the lives of countless individuals, and was known by all for his positive attitude, his caring disposition and of course his witty sense of humor.

Professionally, Doug earned the respect of his colleagues across his entire career, which spanned Military, Government, and beyond (even coaching). His work ethic was unmatched, and he went above and beyond the standard, always willing to help his peers and mentor those who counted on his guidance.

Doug loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who felt he was more of a best friend than a grandpa. He enjoyed travelling, being outdoors, walking his dogs, bike riding, and of course relaxing on the porch and enjoying a cigar. A lifelong learner and teacher, he also loved reading, podcasts, and music.

Our loss of Doug is unmeasurable. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten, his memory living on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A visitation will be held in Doug’s honor on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights, IL. His memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
