

Edward William Sexton, Jr., was born June 7, 1956 in Chicago to Edward William Sexton, Sr. and Mary Alice (nee Ladd) Sexton. He passed away on December 26, 2023 at his home in Arlington Heights.
He grew up in Glenview attending OLPH and Loyola Academy and continued his education at Northwestern and Loyola University. He then dedicated over 50 years to the family floor care business before retiring in 2022. In addition to working for The Sexton Group, Ed was passionate about raising money for Suicide Prevention in honor of his late brother. He loved fishing, playing racquetball, cooking and savoring fine cuisine, reading, playing cards, and following the market. He enjoyed spending time with his devoted wife of 43 years, his loving daughters and son-in-laws. Most importantly, his favorite job was that of being “Papa”. He faithfully attended his grandchildren’s concerts, sporting events, dance recitals, and spent many hours reading to them.
Edward is survived by his devoted wife Lucia (nee Ness) Sexton; his daughters Ahna (Mike) Kain, Christine (John) Pancratz, and Laura (Tito Carrillo) Sexton; his beautiful grandchildren Jack, Chandler, Jameson, Lucia, Charlie, Trey, Coleman and Austin; his father; his siblings Ginny Sexton, Mary Catherine Sexton, Michael Sexton, Brian Sexton, Eileen (John) Oroni, Tricia (Dan) Rosman; and by many nieces and nephews.
Ed is preceded in death by his brother Stephen and by his mother.
Visitation is Friday, January 5, 2024 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
