Edward Jerry Taylor

Of Arlington Heights

Edward Taylor was born on September 9, 1934 in Peoria, Illinois to Edward and Susanne (nee Hermann) Taylor. He died Saturday, October 19, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Taylor worked as a Certified Public Accountant. Edward joined Price Waterhouse Peoria in 1956 and was admitted to the Partnership in 1970. He was the practice unit leader of the privately owned and middle market section of the Chicago office from 1979-1989. Mr. Taylor retired as a Partner in 1995.

Mr. Taylor was a member and past President of the Board of Directors of the Illinois CPA Society; Member and past Chairman of the Board of Executive Advisors to the College of Business of Northern Illinois University; Member of Finance and Audit Committee of the Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry; Past President of the Board of Directors Chicago Hearing Society; and Past Elder and Member of Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights.

Edward played baseball at Bradley University and was inducted into the University Hall of Fame. Mr. Taylor was subsequently signed by the Chicago White Sox organization. Albeit, he was a Chicago Cubs fan.

Edward is survived by his spouse of 64 years Shirley A. Taylor (nee Kunkel); his children Trent (Kathy) Taylor, Todd Taylor and Tamra (Patrick) Sweeney; his grandsons Bryan Taylor, Kevin Taylor, Michael Taylor and Jaden Taylor; his great grandsons Jackson Taylor, Edward Taylor and Thomas Taylor; as well as his sisters Rosemary Turner and Sheryl (Kenneth) Bruninga.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
