Born December 15, 1933 in Owego, New York to the late Alex and Mildred (nee Van Riper) Riegel, she passed peacefully on April 11, 2025 surrounded by family.
Eleanor was always bringing love, laughter, and a touch of warmth to every gathering. Whether she was crafting delicious meals for her family, playing piano with a smile, or hosting lively family dinners filled with laughter and love, she had a gift for making every moment special. A lover of cards, jigsaw puzzles, and a good murder mystery, she cherished time spent with those she held dear. Her kindness, wit, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her fellow card club members of the “Sophisticates”.
Eleanor is survived by her children, Diane E. (Donald) Moore, Edward M. (Christi) Beckmann and James W. (Maureen Ho) Beckmann; her grandchildren William Moore, Rebecca (Nicholas) Olmo and Renee Moore; her sisters, Barbara J. Kupitz, Sally A. Scholler and Jeanne V. Riegel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard; her parents and her brother, Robert Riegel.
