Eleanor Cimoch

Eleanor Cimoch, age 99, passed on July 26, 2026. Born February 11, 1927, Eleanor will be remembered with deep respect and affection, and for the bright humor and lightness she carried into the lives around her.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Josef and Mary, and by her beloved husband, Arthur. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Thomas) and Kathleen (Steven); her grandchildren, Robert (Athena) and Stephen (Rachael); Jessica (Brian); Jamie; and her great-grandchildren, Haley, Parker, Lila Nora, Grace, Jasmine, and Alex.

Throughout her life, Eleanor found steady joy in the beauty and care of home and nature. She loved gardening—especially growing orchids—and took pride in crafts that brought people together, from floral arrangements to party favors made with thoughtful attention. The holidays held a special place in her heart; at Christmas, she and Arthur would decorate the house and set up the Dept 56 villages, creating a warm and welcoming tradition. She was also known for preparing holiday dinners and desserts for special occasions, offering comfort and celebration through the simple generosity of a well-made meal.

Eleanor’s curiosity and appreciation for the wider world were evident in her love of travel, especially her trip to Australia and New Zealand. She also carried a gentle kindness toward animals, spending time with cats and dogs at Buddy Foundation—petting them and giving them the attention they deserved. Even the quiet visits from ducks at the pond in the yard brought her happiness, reflecting her ability to notice and cherish small, peaceful moments.

Above all, Eleanor’s love of family was constant and unwavering. She would do everything she could to help, always eager for the latest news and most concerned that her loved ones were happy and healthy. Her presence—steady, caring, and often touched with humor—will be deeply missed.

A Church Visitation will be held at St Cecilia Catholic Church (St Clare of Assisi Parish), 700 S Meier Rd, Mount Prospect, IL 60056, on August 4, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Funeral Mass will follow at St Cecilia Catholic Church (St Clare of Assisi Parish), 700 S Meier Rd, Mount Prospect, IL 60056, on August 4, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
