Elizabeth Marie Marston died peacefully while sleeping in her Aurora home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021.
Born on August 23, 1936, to Ward and Elizabeth Bretz in Chicago, Illinois, Elizabeth remained in the Chicago area throughout the first two decades of her life.
After a chance meeting on a train en route from Notre Dame to Chicago, Elizabeth met the love of her life, James Marston. In 1959, Elizabeth married James. To support James’s career, they relocated to other areas of the country before eventually returning to Illinois where they called Arlington Heights, Barrington, and Lake Geneva home for the balance of their life together.
Before retirement, Elizabeth worked in the Interior Design industry. When she wasn’t working and taking care of family, Elizabeth enjoyed painting, cooking, music, and travel. Faith and Family were of utmost importance to Elizabeth and she always enjoyed welcoming family and friends into her home for laughter and love.
Surviving are her 3 children, Kathy (Bob), Sharon (Tim), and Kevin (Lily); 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, George, Tommy, Annalia, and Lucia. Extended family includes (4) siblings, Barbara Wichlin, Jan (Glenn) Kiermas, Mike (Kathy) Bretz, Claudine (James) Mulhern, and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, her brother Ward, her sister Sharon, her sister Denise, and her daughter Kerry.
A loving and faithful person, Elizabeth will be dearly missed by all who love her. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband James and their dear daughter Kerry.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10 am Friday, Dec. 10 at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights. Interment will follow thereafter at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine.
