Mrs. Esther E. Ellertson

Esther E. Ellertson, 102, passed away on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was born on January 12, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Sophie (Ellerbrock) Ehlers. She is the beloved wife of Wollert R. “Wally” Ellertson.

Esther is survived by her loving children Dennis (Jeannine) Ellertson, Karen Ellertson, and Kevin Ellertson; grandchildren Kristin (Russell) Vilt and Derek (Cheryl) Ellertson; great-grandchildren Daniel Ellertson, Connor Ellertson, Jacob Ellertson, and McCabe 'Mickey' Vilt; and dear friend Jody Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters Ella Ehlers and Dorothy (Ted) Leonas.

Esther pursued a commercial course in high school and made her mark as an Executive Secretary and Office Manager in the business world. While her children were growing up, she chose to be a “stay at home mom,” volunteering and serving in many capacities at school, church, and community activities. Esther cherished her family, church, friends, and neighbors. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church for many years.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Esther that will be held from 4pm - 8pm on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 at the funeral home. Graveside committal will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines.
