When Gene and Teresa moved into the home directly next to ours in Paradise Valley, it was as if a giant, beautiful smile began shining onto our neighborhood. Gene’s positive and generous glow made us happy every time we saw him walk or ride his scooter passed our home. Gene’s family visited him this Memorial Day holiday weekend, and we could hear their joy and laughter sprinkling through the oleanders that share our property border. We know Gene will continue smiling from above.

So very sad to learn of Gene passing. We ( cousins) grew up together in a 2 flat in Chicago…he, Norman, Aunt Ella and Uncle Arnold upstairs and my sister Bev and I, my mom and dad downatairs. I have so many memories of those days. My deepest condolences to all his family. I will keep him and all his loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. He truly was a courageous spirit

Gene, it’s me Angie your BIG JUMBO SHRIMP 😂 how I miss you I told Teresa I would never be again eat EGGFOO YOUNG it was our meal only meal. You don’t even know how being around you helped get through my separation with my husband I was hurting deep but I came happy but you also never gave me time to cry you would always have something to say about him and we both would start laughing. You Impacted my life in ways you don’t even know I remember one day I came in man I was done my heart is breaking so hard but you go come here and you laid my head on your shoulder and you said go ahead and cry even if you don’t want to talk about but cry it out you held me so tight that say I can hear God whispering to me it’s going to be okay as you hugged me I not only fel your hug but at the same time God was using your body to hold me Himself it was a that moment I realized man I wish I had more time with my dad who had passed away 2 years ago. I would love how you light up when I claw in the house screaming Teresaaaaaa it’s me Angie and then to go in the office for you to say why always say Teresa I’m here Arnie is here 😂 😂 and then you go Angieeeeeee here’s my girl you’re here and what we eating today always putting me in charge of food and omg the REMOTE no one touch the REMOTE BUT YOU GAVE ME THE POWER Every night. You remind me so much of my stepdad in every way you and my stepdad aka my daddy he raised me I thank God he is still alive he was heartbroken to hear you passed and you guys have not met to talk about me he said. Don’t go telling God about my humping in the closet don’t remind God of my Humping in the closet with humpydink you called him even though his name is Mandinka 😂 😂 What happens in Paradise Valley stays in Paradise Valley 😂 😂 you are loved here. A few weeks ago, tragedy visited my wife Darlene and myself. A retired RN, she suffered a stroke that left her blind and with dementia at age 78. You and I always shared some family talk, so I decided to do so again. Peace for your family. Bruce Allen, Naples, FL.

Dear Anderson Family. As you know Gene and I had a very strong Swedish family heritage. As a result at certain occasions we really thought that we could speak Swedish, especially when we where celebrating together with a liquid beverage I new the word “Sokol” and he new the phrase “Halon Gor” and then between us we sang a Swedish drinking song that no body under stood including Gene and I but it has always been memorable to me because it express our joy in sharing our Swedish heritage. and our friendship
