

Evelyn lived a life defined by resilience, hard work, and love for her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Skrypek; her daughter, Sabine Witte (Lloyd Britton); and her son, Frank Skrypek and her parents Hertha and Heinrich Munch.
In 1975, Evelyn moved from Germany to the United States with her husband Lloyd after welcoming two more children, Marc and Carolin. Together they built a life in America centered around family and opportunity.
For more than 30 years, Evelyn worked as a florist and delivery driver at Sylvia’s in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She took pride in her work and enjoyed bringing beauty into people’s lives through her floral arrangements and friendly deliveries.
Outside of work, Evelyn found joy in the simple things. She loved gardening, bird watching, and spending time browsing estate sales, always appreciating the beauty and stories behind the things she found.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Marc Skrypek (Theresa) and Carolin Skrypek. She was a proud grandmother to Chris Britton, Daniel Britton, Lynn Christophersen (Adam), Ashley Skrypek, and Kaelyn Skrypek who knew her as Omi. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Rylee Britton, Norah Britton, Joel Britton, Aubrey Britton, Adalyn Christophersen, and Arlet Christophersen, who brought her great joy.
Evelyn will be remembered for her strength, her dedication to family, and the warmth she shared with those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, kindness, and love that will continue through the generations of her family.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Evelyn will have a visitation at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on March 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A committal service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 East Euclid Ave, Arlington Heights, IL 60004, on March 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
