Florence Simioni was born on May 21, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Sr. and Sarah (nee Menconi) Peota. She died Sunday, February 9, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Simioni worked for Jewel Food Stores as the Bakery Manager at various suburban locations. Afterwards, she worked at Lord and Taylor in the Receiving Dept until she retired in 1989.

Florence’s hobbies included annual trips to Las Vegas where she especially liked to play bingo and video poker, as well as frequent trips to all area grocery stores.

Florence is survived by her children Lawrence Simioni and Deborah Blackwell; her grandchildren Christopher (Jessie) Blackwell and Brittany (David) Wilk; her great-grandchildren Reagan, Kendall and Aubrey Wilk; her brother Joseph (late Loretta) Peota, Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her son, Thomas Simioni.

Visitation Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Graveside committal service Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:00am at Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 N. Narragansett, Chicago, IL 60634.
