They say you learn more in the field during an apprenticeship than you ever will in a classroom, and I was lucky enough to learn it all from Frank.
Back when I was an apprentice at O’Hare Terminal 5, Frank was the Lead Engineer for the midnight shift. That’s a tough environment the terminal is huge, the systems are complex, and the hours can be relentless. But he made that building feel manageable. He knew every inch of that place; he could walk into a mechanical room and tell you exactly where everything was at, even in the dark.
He was the kind of teacher who didn't just tell you how to do something he showed you. Whether he was guiding me through wiring a motor or helping me troubleshoot a stubborn plumbing fixture, he had the patience to make sure I actually understood the why behind the work. If I was ever stuck on a job, his voice on the radio was the one I wanted to hear. He could walk me through a repair so clearly that it felt like he was standing right there over my shoulder.
Beyond the technical skills, he was a guy with a great sense of humor who looked out for the people on his crew. He’d constantly remind us that the midnight shift will kill a person slowly that our bodies aren't built for that life and he genuinely wanted us to prioritize our health and our futures, even if it meant moving on from those night shifts.
Even though I’ve moved on from Terminal 5, the lessons he taught me during my apprenticeship still show up in my work every single day. He wasn't just a Lead Engineer; he was one of my many mentor who laid the foundation for my career.
He was brilliant, he was funny, and he was the guy you always wanted on your shift. Thank you for everything you taught me, Frank.

My heart goes out to the entire Bianco family, especially Aunt Judy. I’m holding all of you in my thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Such a heartbreaking loss. Wishing you all strength, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.❤️

Frank my friend. 15 years of playing a game and the friendship that grow into a bond. All the late night talks, supporting each other with our heart conditions, the love we shared with our dogs, our mustangs and the many hours talking tactics about the game we both loved in war commander. The love for your mum Judy, aka, the dog whisperer and how you would light up when talking about your girl friend. oh Frank, so very sorry to all your family, so wish I could be their for you all. your Aussie mate Jim.

To my one and only first cousin, Your passing has taken a part of my heart that will never find it's way back to me.. This was unexpected and heart breaking more than you'll ever know. The world lost one of the good ones that can't be replaced or duplicated. Our relationship has been bother hood for me and Anthony, You have been the third Bianco brother that completed us both, A trifecta knowbody can compete with....... I am alittle disappointed myself and my brother Anthony are not mentioned in the obituaries above like others where, we where a huge part of his life all the way to the tragic end. Frank and I where best friends and could talk about anything and everything and make laughter out of it.. Till we meet again cuz.

Frank my lovely brother, my heart is shattered into pieces, your Egyptian brother loves you so much, your soul were one of a kind, i love you, and i will always remember you.

Frankie, we miss you so much. We will always keep you in our hearts. The laughs and the memories are endless. The loud mustang, Arizona, Frank Sinatra (always about the hat!), flare, Beatles shows, your face when JP told me my hair was like Geddy’s, weeeeeee, dogs dogs dogs, the high school picture, and a million other things! You’ll always be with us. Judy, Becky, and family, we are here for you. ❤️ Mikey, JP, and Mikaela
