Fred I. Palicka

Of Arlington Heights

Fred I. Palicka was born March 5, 1932 in Chicago to Fred and Rose (nee Vit) Palicka. He died October 20, 2023 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Fred is survived by his daughters Carol (Mark) Biging and Gail (Jeffery) Rollefson; his grandchildren Kimberly (Jason), Jessica (Anthony), Amy and Brian (Elizabeth), his great grandchildren Nolan, Reid and Avery; and by his brother Richard (late Bernadette) Palicka.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marianne (nee Hare) Palicka; his brother Robert (late Dolores) Palicka and by his parents.

Fred grew up in Chicago and attended Washburn Trade School. Upon graduation he spent 4 years in the Navy. He began his career as a tool and die maker and worked his way up to Mechanical Engineer at Northrup Grumman where he ultimately became a unit manager designing power systems for radar jamming devices for the military.

Once he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Marianne, in their home in Florida. When in Arlington Heights, he enjoyed spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Memorial visitation Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, from 1:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 4:00 PM. Interment private.
