He graduated from Carl Schurz High School in 1946, from Wright Junior College in 1948, and from Northwestern University in 1950 and again in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1952 during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Commerce Clearing House, of Chicago and Riverwoods, for 37 years, retiring as Assistant Treasurer in 1991. In 1975, they began to foster babies again, eventually welcoming a total of 89 into their home. He was an ever-devoted and faithful husband, father, grandfather of 14, and great-grandfather of 17. He loved being a part of the fellowship at Mt. Prospect Bible Church for over 55 years, where he served as a choir member, a soloist, in the ministry of visitation, and as a deacon.
