Frederick Joseph Sharkey

Frederick Joseph Sharkey was born January 3, 1940 in Chicago to Dominick and Mary Ellen (nee Shea) Sharkey." He died May 21, 2014 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.Fred was a systems analyst for Allstate Insurance Company for over 28 years." He was a Past Grand Knight and Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus " Holy Rosary Council." He was a long time member of Our Lady of the Wayside Parish where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, lector, School Board Member, Saint Vincent De Paul Society and the golf league.Fred is survived by his wife Maureen E. (nee McCormick) Sharkey; his children Fred, Tim (Nicole) and Colleen (Ian) Hammersmith; his grandchildren Nolan, McKenna and Teagan Sharkey and Avery, Isla and Cormack Hammersmith and his sister Pauline Christensen.Fred is preceded in death by his brother Eugene and by his parents.Visitation from 3 until 9 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N.
