Freeda Kosiek was born on June 9, 1936, in Pittsburgh (London), Kentucky to Albert and Lella (nee Young) Smith. She died on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at her home.

Mrs. Kosiek worked as a self-employed hairdresser and owner of the Limelight Salon. Later she managed currency exchanges for many years.

Freeda is survived by her children, Marion (Don) Ratliff, Norman (Donna) Lehner, James (Donna) Lehner, and John (Michelle) Lehner; her grandchildren, Tori, Bryan, Tiffany, Danielle, Jimmy, and Joey; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Annie, Westyn, Edi, Matti, Heidi, Jay, and Jaxon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Kosiek; and her parents.

Visitation from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Funeral Service 10:00 am, Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Interment St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to organizations supporting child cancer treatment.
