Garry B. AldenOf Arlington HeightsGarry B. Alden was born on October 11, 1947 in Cheverly, Maryland to Lorne and Elaine (nee Bennett) Alden. He died Monday, April 20, 2015 in Chicago.Garry worked as a professional engineer for Jacobs Engineering Group in Chicago. He was a graduate of Palatine High School and received his Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering from the University of Dayton. He was an active member and a past officer of the Festival Choir in Palatine. In addition, Garry enjoyed international travel and feeding the birds and squirrels around his home. He was an enthusiastic Buccaneer"s Fan. He had an interest with spirits, angels, and American Indian Heritage. Garry was known for his genuine kindness and love of "Story Telling". He loved to spend time with his family, especially his father, and had many special friends that he dearly loved. Garry is survived by his father, Lorne Alden; siblings; Bruce V. (Susan) Alden, Christin Alden, Katherine Alden, and Kelley Alden; nieces' Gretchen (Michael) Ross, Andrea (Scott) Huffman, Jessica (Robert) Bilius, Abigail (Matthew) Andres, and Riley Davis, many great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Geri Wendling; her children, Richard (Mary) Comeaux, Kimberly Comeaux, Christopher (Stefany) Comeaux, and Patrick Comeaux; long-time friends Robert Goldstein and Peter Lisk. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Alden. Visitation Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd.,1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Visitation 9:00 am Friday, April 24, 2015 until the 11:00 am Funeral Service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery in Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Festival Choir, c/o Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
