Gary A. Worcester

Born July 22, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, Gary lived a life defined largely by his dedication to his family and friends. Throughout the years, he touched countless lives with a generous spirit, and a warm sense of humor. He made a lasting impact on everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

Gary, graduated from Foreman High School, joined the United States Army, went to junior prom with and later married, Karlene Rominski. They enjoyed a 65-year love affair and raised five children. Gary spent most of his career working as the commercial lending officer at Albany Bank and Trust in the city.

Gary truly enjoyed his countless list of close friends – you know who you are! Everyone who knew him knew he was particularly proud of the lake house in Tomahawk, Wisconsin that he built with the help of his family and friends. So many pontoon rides! So many good times!

Gary is lovingly survived by his wife, Karlene; his five children, Susan (Greg) Mann, Donald Worcester, Greg Worcester, Sheryl (Kevin) Jahns and Mark (Sherrill) Worcester; his grandchildren, Aaron (Christina), Taylor (Candace), Ashlyn (Sean), Mackenna (Duke), Nicholas (Sarah), Courtney (Anthony), Harley (Alex), Nathaniel, Christopher, Jacob, William, Jonathan and Jack; his great-grandchildren, Harper, Jameson and Maverick; his sister, Joyce (Rich) Bader; and many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family members who will continue to cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by his brother, Lester Worcester, and his father, Dom Worcester.

Gary’s legacy of resilience, laughter and love will live on through the family he cherished.

A visitation for Gary will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL, 60004, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM. An additional visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, July 28th, 2026, at Glueckert Funeral Home, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Graveside burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
