Gayleen J. Brown, formerly of Arlington Heights was born on July 24, 1937, in Lexington, Nebraska to Chester and Rachel (nee White) Rork. She died Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, in Barrington.

Mrs. Brown was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Barrington United Methodist Church and a former member of Southminster Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights and the Eastern Star.

Gayleen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald, L. Brown; her children Dixie D. (Donald) Trevarthen, Bill (Kathy), Rich (Laura), James P., and Angela S. (Erik) Heuser; her grandchildren, James, Robyn, Matthew, Chris, Shannon, Alyssa, Dylan, Shaun, Alec, Colby and Peyton; and her great-grandchildren, Aidan, Jaxson, Parker, Mackenzi, and Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister Alita Slater.

Visitation from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois and from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington, Illinois. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E. Ohio St., #500, Chicago, IL 60611 or to Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Road, Barrington, Illinois 60010.
