Gene Wandall

Formerly of Des Plaines 

Gene Wandall, 89, of Clearwater, FL passed away August 15, 2018. 

Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years Nancy (Buck) Wandall; his daughters Julie and Jill Wandall; his nephews and nieces John (Carol) Wandall, Mary Kay (Bill) Sutton, Matthew (Michelle) Wandall, Gregory (Sue) Sahagian, Nadine (Robert) Barges, Jennifer Sahagian; many dear cousins; and his dog Ally. 

Gene is preceded in death by his parents John and Rose (Kalter) Wandall, Brother Jack (Katherine) Wandall, and Sister Joan Wandall Sahagian. 

Prior to retiring to Florida in 2005, Gene was a successful small business owner who loved being his own boss. He was an animal lover, a die-hard New York Yankees fan, and an avid gardener who loved Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Thoughtful and generous, he supported charities for animals, the disabled and veterans.  

Memorial visitation Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights.
