George was born in Chicago on May 16, 1946, to parents George and Eleanor (nee Solak) Fait, the oldest of their three children. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Niles, and he went on to earn his undergraduate and Masters degrees from Northern Illinois University.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army Reserves and dutifully served his country for six years.
George met Joan Sciurba at The Jaycees in 1976, and the couple were married in 1980 in Elmhurst. Together they had two children, Brian and Sara, who they raised in Arlington Heights.
He was a product manager for Kemper Insurance in Long Grove for over 35 years. He was a season ticket holder for the Chicago Bears for 50 years, and enjoyed playing football in his younger years. He loved golfing throughout his life, and enjoyed vegetable gardening. He adored his three granddaughters and spoiled them as much as a papa could. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Joan Fait, his daughter Sara (Sean) Campbell, his granddaughters, Claire, Grace, and Brynn, his siblings, Kenneth Fait, and Deborah Purcell, and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Fait.
