She died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at home surrounded by her family.Geri was the founder and owner of Flower Garden Day Care which opened 45 years ago in Palatine and later in Prospect Heights." The love of children led her to be a Catechist in the Catholic faith at St. Isabel, Sanibel Island, Fl. and St. Alphonsus Liguori in Prospect Heights, IL., she was involved in starting the SPRED program, the religious education program for those with special needs at St. Alphonsus Liguori." She also worked with the Sanibel Island Lions Club on fundraising efforts.Geri is survived by her husband George, for" 54 years, her children Michael (TammySue Margalit) Podlin, Karen (Steve) Billings, Sue (Dan) Meihls, Mark (The Late Kim) Podlin, Colleen (Jeff) Mnichowicz, Georgette (Dave) Gunther, Jeff (Jill) Podlin, her grandchildren, Jackie, Amanda, Travis (Hailey), Takara, Alexandria, Justin," Luke," Tyler," Danny, Becky, Sam, Sabrina," Ginger, Mckenzie, Morgan," Melanie; great granddaughter, Gabriella, her siblings, Terry (Bob) Yeager, Jerome (Beth) Klopack.She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister in law Roberta Klopack.Visitation" from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N.
