Harvey J. Smith was 95 when he passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018, in Arlington Heights.

Mr. Smith worked as an engineering manager for Honeywell in Minneapolis, MN, Morton Grove, IL, and Arlington Heights. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church; Men’s Club, Usher & completed many church improvement projects. Harvey was an avid golfer and a member of Arlington Heights Golden Golfers. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and was loved by all.

Harvey is survived by his children, Gregory (Joyce) Smith and Catherine (Arthur) Ekberg; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeffrey) Atwood, Jennifer (Aaron) Clarke, Christopher (Fiance Katie Bitonti) Smith and Kelly (Eric) Aponte; great-grandchildren, Emily Clarke, Riley Clarke and David Atwood; sister, Rose Marie (the late Wally) Etherton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Smith; his parents; siblings, LeRoy (Bernice) Smith, Elmer (Inez) Smith, Mavis (Robert) Jensen.

Visitation Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Faith Lutheran Church, 431 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Entombment will be private.
